Skyscraper Live - Netflix LIve event
January 2026 - Taipei, Taiwan - climbing analyst
In January 2026, I served as the climbing analyst for Netflix’s Skyscraper Live, a first-of-its-kind, global live-broadcast event that saw Alex Honnold free solo the iconic Taipei 101 tower in front of 6.2 million global viewers.
My role required real-time analytical depth, translating the nuance of Honnold’s movement, decision making, and risk management into a compelling, accessible stream of consciousness for a massive mainstream audience.
We were operating in a volatile, exposed, and shifting environment; the success of the broadcast hinged on our team’s ability to interpret, adapt and convey salient information about Alex's progress.
Skyscraper Live stands as a defining project in my career. It moved the needle for climbing content, bringing the realities of elite-level, exposed climbing to the living rooms of millions.
